Ladies and Gentlemen,

The Government Centre for Security has published material "Get Ready! – Guide for Crisis and War".

The ability to cope with threat situations is an extremely important part of building a resilient society, and this translates directly into the resilience of the state.

The guide explains in simple terms how to prepare to function/act in a crisis situation – what to do to avoid the threat and how to behave when it occurs. Crisis situations may have various causes – and it does not always have to be intentional human action, but e.g. an accident/failure in an industrial plant that uses dangerous substances in the technological process – so it is worth being prepared. It is worth knowing what the howling sirens mean, how to cancel the alarm, and what to do then.

The guide consists of two parts. The first part contains information necessary to prepare for a threat, the second – tips on what to do during a crisis. The material includes: how to build resilience at the family level to increase the safety of yourself and your loved ones; how to protect yourself against disinformation, so as not to panic, for example; how to behave during an alarm and what the individual signals mean; how to prepare for a possible evacuation; how to behave in the event of contamination of the area, lack of electricity supply or a hostage situation; how to provide first aid.
