Kamila Urbańczyk to head PTFK

Kamila Urbańczyk from the Department of Clinical Pharmacology at the Medical University of Wroclaw has become president of the Polish Society of Clinical Pharmacy. This was the decision made by the members of the PACP at its first symposium, held on the last weekend of September in Warsaw.

The new president of PTFK is a graduate of the UMW Faculty of Pharmacy and Queen's University Belfast (specializing in clinical pharmacy). She has also completed numerous professional internships, including in Slovenia, France, Northern Ireland and Sweden. She is an assistant in the Department of Clinical Pharmacology at UMW, and also works as a clinical pharmacist at the Regional Specialized Hospital in Wroclaw . Before she became head of the PTFK by decision of the delegates, she was its vice president.

Polish Society of Clinical Pharmacy It was founded in 2020 and has set as its goal the promotion and support of the development of clinical pharmacy in Poland and the association of the community of people interested in this field of science. "Effective, safe and rational pharmacotherapy is one of the foundations of an effective health care system, which cannot function without the full involvement of pharmacists," the PTFK writes on its website.

On the last weekend of September, the 1st Symposium of the Polish Society of Clinical Pharmacy was held in Warsaw under the theme "Clinical pharmacy services - new quality in health care". It was attended by specialists from Poland and abroad, and lectures and discussions concerned clinical pharmacy in the Polish health care system: implemented in both hospital and primary health care areas. The program also included workshops allowing participants to acquire and improve practical skills. The event was accompanied by a general meeting of members, who elected the new authorities of the PTFK.
