"Orientation Day" for future doctors

During the "Orientation Day" we welcomed new members of our academic community - almost 140 first-year students of the English Division at the medical faculty of Wroclaw University of Medical Sciences.

Students from almost all over the world will begin studying in English at the Faculty of Medicine at our university. The "Orientation Day" featured young people who came to study in Wroclaw from Nigeria, Tunisia, USA, Sweden, Algeria, Ukraine, Cyprus, Philippines, Chile, Slovakia, Moldova, Taiwan, Jordan, Sudan, Arab Emirates, Turkey, Syria, India, Pakistan, Myanmar, Germany, Norway, Seychelles, Ireland, UK, Egypt, Iran and Canada.

They were welcomed in the lecture hall of the Collegium Anatomicum by Dr. Katarzyna Neubauer, professor of the university, associate dean for English-language education at the UMW Faculty of Medicine, who said:- The decision to study abroad always demonstrates the courage and openness of young people that we value so much in the university community. English Division is often about different points of view and always an opportunity to teach others, to teach oneself.

The students were also met by Dr. Zygmunt Domagała of the UMW Department of Normal Anatomy, the mentor of the first year ED, who congratulated them on receiving their indexes and assured them that they could always count on his help. In addition, the university staff talked about the most important organizational matters, and the senior students present at the "Orientation Day" suggested creating a mentoring program for new colleagues.
