Run of the Medical University of Wroclaw

The route has changed, but the goal remains the same: having fun, promoting physical activity and a healthy lifestyle. On Saturday, September 30, at 9 a.m., the University of Wroclaw Medical School Run (BUMWRO) will begin. This year the start and finish line will be at Bartel Street. The accompanying events will be organized there as well.
 
Participants in the BUMWRO will run along an approved 10 km route. They will have a stretch to run along the Old Oder River through the areas of the Morskie Oko Swimming Pool, the Olympic Stadium complex, the Champs de Mars, Szczytnicki Park and the Pergola by the Centennial Hall. The running town, meanwhile, will stand on the campus of the UMW Faculty of Health Sciences at 5 Bartla Street.
 
- I hope that we will meet in large numbers to promote a healthy lifestyle and physical activity as a primary prevention of civilization diseases. We invite everyone, regardless of age and fitness level, because during our event, in addition to competition, having fun and integrating is important," says Tomasz Zatonski, Ph.D., UMW professor, the university's vice-rector for building relations and cooperation with the environment and director of BUMWRO.
 
In addition to the open category, the competition will include industry competitions, including student, doctor, university or team championships. Traditionally, BUMKIDS, a children's run, will be organized. Three routes of different lengths (400 meters for children aged 6-7; 800 meters for children aged 8-9; 1200 meters for children aged 10-12) will await the youngest participants at the park. In addition, for the fifth time, the BUMWRO will be attended by jumpers, or duos: children with disabilities in cross-country wheelchairs and their caregivers. Attractions also await spectators, for whom the organizers have prepared, among other things, first aid demonstrations with rescue dogs and the opportunity to meet and talk with soldiers from the Land Forces Academy.
 

Route of the Run of the Medical University of Wroclaw: Bartla - Parkowa - Kochanowskiego - Różyckiego - Chopin - Wieniawskiego - Paderewskiego - Kopernika - Mickiewicza - Wystawowa - Mickiewicza and Centennial Hall - Pergola - Olympic Stadium The run will restrict vehicular traffic on the route from 9:30-11:30 a.m., however, individual streets will be successively opened after the last competitor has run.
