Animal Keeper
  • Wistar strain rats – males and females of different weights and ages
  • Mice of BALB/c, C57BL/6, SWISS strains – males and females of different weight and ages
  • We also accept animals from other breeding establishments for scientific and research purposes (after prior arrangement of housing or breeding conditions)
  • Providing hotel accommodation of animals in the premises of the Animal Facility appropriately adapted to keeping laboratory animals
  • Breeding mice and rats
  • Preparing groups of animals for experiments
  • Assisting in the planning and implementation of procedures
  • Performing experimental procedures:

 

       - handling, weighing, record keeping

       - administering preparations orally, intra-gastrically (probe), subcutaneously, intraperitoneally,  intramuscularly and intravenously

       - infusion and inhalation anaesthesia (isoflurane)

       - collecting biological materials (faeces, urine, swabs, blood, tissues and organs)

       - providing comprehensive assistance with surgical procedures (preparation of animals for surgery, assistance during procedures, postsurgical care)

       - animal euthanasia

       - organising the adoption of animals after experiments and from breeding surpluses

  1. In order to be able to carry out an experiment with animals, it is absolutely necessary to obtain the consent of the Local Ethics Committee on Animal Experiments (LKE).
  2. Before sending an application to the LKE, please contact the Animal Facility to discuss the details and price the experience!
  3. Our personnel has extensive experience in writing applications (theoretical part) and conducting experiments (practical part) – we will be happy to help.
  4. The next step will be to send the completed application to the Animal Welfare Unit.
  5. After the Animal Welfare Unit approves the application, It can be submitted to the LKE.
  6. After obtaining consent from the LKE, an order can be placed with the Experimental Animal Facility to purchase animals and perform the experiment.
