English Division Class of 2026 - Congratulations!
On July 3, Hala Stulecia welcomed the Wrocław Medical University English Division Class of 2026 for a ceremony that brought together graduates, families, friends and members of the University community. For many in the audience, it was a deeply personal moment: seeing years of effort finally transformed into a diploma and a new professional beginning.
The 94 graduates who crossed the stage represented 79 Medicine students and 15 Dentistry students. Coming from countries across Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East and North America, they shared one place that had brought them together: Wrocław- the meeting place and the English Division community at WMU. After years of study and clinical training, they are now ready to begin their careers as doctors and dentists.
Addressing the graduates, Rector Prof. Piotr Ponikowski spoke about the courage required to begin a career in medicine and the responsibility that comes with this profession. He reminded them that a doctor’s role goes far beyond applying medical knowledge. It also means having the confidence to make difficult decisions and the determination to always act in the best interest of patients. Vice-Dean Prof. Katarzyna Neubauer shared a personal message with the graduates, reminding them to thank the families and loved ones who supported them throughout their studies and made this achievement possible. She encouraged them to truly listen to their future patients and to remember that every diagnosis belongs to a person with their own story, fears and hopes. The ceremony included speeches from University representatives and graduates, a performance by the Medici Cantantes Choir, symbolic Hippocratic Oath and a slideshow bringing back memories from student life. The final moments belonged to the graduates themselves: flowers, embraces, photographs and the traditional cap toss, greeted by cheers from the audience.
Behind this special day stood many people whose work made the ceremony possible.
This occasion provides an opportunity to recognise the exceptional contribution of Prof. Katarzyna Neubauer, Vice-Dean for English Division, whose tireless support for students and unwavering dedication to the English Division continue to shape future physicians. Her commitment was a crucial part of bringing this year’s Graduation Ceremony together, just as it has been in supporting students throughout their years at the University.
The event was also supported by Dr Katarzyna Kołodziejczyk-Prażmo, Head of the English Division Dean’s Office, whose expertise and involvement were invaluable during the preparations. A very special mention goes to Mr Kacper Panasiuk (Pan Casper), 6th Year English Division Supervisor, who stood by this cohort throughout their final year and went above and beyond in the weeks before graduation to ensure that every student matter was taken care of.
Special thanks also go to the amazing student organising team: Dr Magdalena Brutkowska, Dr Sara Korzeniecki and Dr Angelica Narajewski. Their enthusiasm, creativity, attention to detail and commitment to supporting their fellow students throughout the organisation of the event helped create a ceremony that the Class of 2026 and their guests will remember for years to come. We would also like to thank Dr Magdalena Brutkowska and Dr Johannes Guha for hosting this year's ceremony.
