Maciej Daszkiewicz is a doctoral student at the Doctoral School of Wroclaw Medical University and a physiotherapist working in private practice and at a therapeutic and diagnostic center for rare diseases.
His research primarily focuses on rehabilitation methods for patients after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR). Maciej is also broadly interested in physiotherapy in orthopedics, traumatology, and sports medicine and the challenges of returning to sports after injuries.
Main Scientific Achievements
The main scientific achievement of Maciej can be considered the role of the project manager of the project titled Secondary research (systematic review) on methods used to evaluate the effectiveness of physiotherapy interventions in the context of planning primary research on the use of anti-gravity treadmill training in patients after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction of the knee joint. The project was financed by the subsidy of Wroclaw Medical University in 2024. As part of the project, he completed the JBI Comprehensive Systematic Review Training Program online in Aberdeen, Scotland, and the Statistics in Medicine: Meta-Analysis training, where he learned to perform meta-analyses using Statistica software. He also undertook a two-week internship in Germany at the Evidence-Based Practice in Brandenburg: A JBI Affiliated Group, under the Convenor of the Group, Robert Prill, where he trained in evidence synthesis.
Maciej is engaged in research on physiotherapy in orthopedics and sports medicine. He is a co-author of scientific articles in this field. His doctoral thesis is focused on applying an anti-gravity treadmill after ACLR. His primary supervisor is Aleksandra Królikowska from Wroclaw Medical University, and his auxiliary supervisor is Robert Prill from Brandenburg Medical School Theodor Fontane in Germany.
During his physiotherapy studies, Maciej was an active member of the Student Research Group for Developmental Disorders in Children and Adolescents (2020-2022), where he helped organize the Progressio Infantis conference and participated in research activities. Research results conducted within the Student Research Group were presented at the following conferences: the Third International Conference on Children and Youth (2021) in Sri Lanka (online); Progressio Infantis (2020, 2021) in Wroclaw and the Scientists' Evening (2020) in Wroclaw.
