Główne kierunki badań naukowych realizowanych w Katedrze Fizjologii i Patofizjologii dotyczą:
- modelowania czynności mózgu w oparciu o pomiary bioelektrycznej aktywności wywołanej, w szczególności poznawczych potencjałów wywołanych mózgu, rejestrowanych w wybranych schorzeniach neurologicznych i psychiatrycznych.
Dear Sirs,
with great pleasure we would like to inform you that our team for this year's 5th edition of the prestigious nationwide physiological knowledge competition “Great Synapse,” organised by the Polish Physiological Society, took first place in the team competition. The team composed of: Natalia Suchecka (2nd year), Julia Kokocińska (2nd year), and Barbara Sradomska (2nd year) defeated 14 teams from leading medical universities in Poland. Congratulations!

The Student Scientific Club of Human Physiology at the Division of Physiology of the Department of Physiology and Pathophysiology of Wroclaw Medical University brings together students wishing to broaden their knowledge of human physiology by participating in regular scientific meetings moderated by the Division's employees, or by taking part in research work conducted at the Department of Physiology and Pathophysiology, often in collaboration with clinical units of Wroclaw Medical University and University Clinical Hospital. Bearing in mind that Physiology - referred to as the “Queen of all medical sciences” – covers, at least to some extent, almost all (if not all) branches of medicine, we do not narrow down the topics of the scientific meetings and remain open to suggestions made by students. We want these meetings to touch on physiological issues that are the most topical, widely discussed and uniquely fractious. Meetings are also organised to prepare for the “Great Synapse” National Physiological Knowledge Competition.
Students who find the research vein in themselves are invited to participate in scientific projects implemented or co-implemented by the Department of Physiology and Pathophysiology. We also leave it up to you to propose and conduct your “own” research experiment in the area of broadly defined autonomic nervous system physiology, culminating in a conference abstract or scientific paper.
Those wishing to become a member of the Student Scientific Club of Human Physiology are invited to contact: szymon.buras@student.umw.edu.pl (Chair of the Student Scientific Club of Human Physiology: Szymon Buras) or sknfizjologiiczlowieka@gmail.com.

Club supervisor: Bartłomiej Paleczny, PhD
Formal procedures are currently underway to reorganise the scientific clubs operating at the Wroclaw Medical University's Department of Physiology and Pathophysiology.
Students wishing to broaden their knowledge of human physiology (in particular, the functioning of reflex autonomic control mechanisms in the cardiovascular and respiratory systems), please contact the supervisor directly – Bartłomiej Paleczny, PhD, e-mail: bartlomiej.paleczny@umed.wroc.pl.
Information on examinations can be found on the tabs of the individual Divisions.
