History
Establishing a JBI Affiliated Group at Wroclaw Medical University has been a significant task within the University’s 2024-2026 Development Strategy, titled Wroclaw Medical University in the Light of Scientific Excellence 2024-2026. This strategic plan, selected for additional funding by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education in Poland, was designed to advance the University’s candidacy for the prestigious Excellence Initiative – Research University program supported by the same ministry. The strategy emphasizes enhancing the quality and international scope of scientific research, advancing teaching standards, and elevating the university’s global recognition.
As part of this broader plan, achieving JBI affiliation supports the University’s objective of fostering partnerships with high-profile international research institutions. On September 1, 2024, dr hab. Aleksandra Królikowska, a university professor, was appointed as the Rector’s Proxy for Evidence-Based Healthcare in Wroclaw to lead and coordinate the Evidence-Based Healthcare in Wroclaw (EBHC-W) initiative. Her role was formalized by the Rector’s Decree No. 179/XVI R/2024 on September 2, 2024, which established the EBHC-W Group, joining the JBI Collaboration the same year.
