INFORMATION ON PUBLIC HEALTH

Public health is an interdisciplinary field of study offering graduates a comprehensive knowledge of the functioning of the health care system and building the health capital of society. In light of globalization changes, the position of public health as a scientific field is systematically strengthening, and the areas it deals with create great potential for development and subsequent employment in the profession.

Medical University of Wroclaw is recruiting for Bachelor and Master studies

3-year bachelor's degree Public health is a holistic approach to population health that combines knowledge from medical sciences, humanities and economics. It teaches about a person and his/her health, while also teaching about the financing of health care units, organization and management.

Graduates gain professional qualifications for employment in health care, local government administration, the National Health Fund or insurance companies. You will gain extensive knowledge and skills necessary to conduct health education, manage medical facilities, exercise sanitary and epidemiological control, identify health needs and implement preventive programs.

Matura subjects: a compulsory modern foreign language and one of the following subjects (to be chosen by a candidate): mathematics, geography, biology, chemistry, physics, physics and astronomy.

The Master's studies are intended for students who have completed the first degree. M.A. studies create an opportunity to obtain specialized extended knowledge and social competences preparing the graduate to perform a key role in the health care system.

They are an excellent choice for those who graduated with majors such as: nursing, lifesaving, midwifery, medical, medical-dental, cosmetology, dietetics, management, economics, law, sociology. We also invite people who graduated from majors related to the above - each application will be considered individually.

During the recruitment process the average grade obtained during the first degree studies is taken into account (e.g. 5.0 average is 5 recruitment points; 4.45 average is 4.45 points). Additionally, 1 recruitment point can be obtained for a peer-reviewed publication.

EMPLOYMENT PERSPECTIVE

The employment outlook after graduating from the most interdisciplinary major in medical school is very broad. This is confirmed by graduates sharing their professional experiences.

Read an interview with public health graduates! - "What do the statistics and the graduates themselves say?"

Graduation with a degree in public health provides the opportunity to begin a career in health management and promotion in health care facilities, government, education sector, sanitary and epidemiological supervision, academic and research institutions, health and social insurance institutions.

Public health graduates also find jobs in companies that specialize in conducting health audits, health coaching, developing prevention programs or medical marketing efforts.
