RECRUITMENT FOR THE SPECIALISATION OF HOSPITAL PHARMACY

The Department of Postgraduate Education at the Faculty of Pharmacy informs about the possibility of submitting applications for the specialisation course in the field of Hospital Pharmacy, from 30 April to 31 May 2023. More information in the specialisation course for pharmacists tab.


 

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT COURSES

Dear all,
You are invited to participate in a series of 3 courses to support the commencement of the provision of pharmaceutical care services. n accordance with the Act on the Pharmacy Profession, the scope of services that constitute pharmaceutical care has been defined. Every pharmacist is fully entitled to provide such services. To meet the expectations of the environment, the Department of Postgraduate Education at the Faculty of Pharmacy at Wroclaw Medical University, together with the Lower Silesian Pharmaceutical Chamber, has prepared a series of 3 courses within the scope of professional development, which will enable every pharmacist to revise the necessary knowledge and strengthen practical skills.

The first course covers: Conducting a pharmaceutical consultation. Conducting a pharmaceutical interview. Provision of pharmaceutical advice. Patient's rights.

Dates of the first course:
4 November 2022 (4 hrs.), 18 November 2022 (4 hrs.), 19 November 2022 (8 hrs., stationary) - group 1.
18 November 2022 (4 hrs.), 9 December 2022 (4 hrs.), 10 December 2022 (8 hrs., stationary) – group 2.
16 December 2022 (4 hrs.), 13 January 2023 (4 hrs.), 14 January 2023 (8 hrs., stationary) – group 3.

The second course covers: Drug review with documentation.

The third course covers: Diagnostic testing in prophylaxis and monitoring in pharmacy practice.

Each course lasts 16 hrs., including 8 hrs. online (two Friday afternoons) and 8 hrs. onsite (one Saturday).

The course ends with a test to check knowledge and a certificate is issued confirming the granting of 16 points, each time, as part of professional development.

The fee for each course for a pharmacist is PLN 160.

The series of three courses enables comprehensive strengthening of knowledge and skills supporting the provision of pharmaceutical care by every pharmacist.

The practical classes will be held at the Faculty of Pharmacy, ul. Borowska 211 a, Wrocław, the Department of Drug Form Technology.

The payment should be made to the DIA account; please advise your name and write "course' in the title of the payment. The purpose of the courses is to build practical skills; they are conducted by experts and practitioners with experience who provide services that make up pharmaceutical care. Specialisation training for pharmacists

Wroclaw Medical University, based on the accreditations granted by the director of the Center for Postgraduate Medical Education, conducts specialisation training in the field of: retail pharmacy, clinical pharmacy, hospital pharmacy.

Specialisation training for pharmacists in the following areas:
retail pharmacy 2018
clinical pharmacy 2018
hospital pharmacy 2018

The conditions for the specialisation training are set out in:
the Act on the Pharmacy Profession of 10 December 2020 (Dz. U. /Journal of Laws/ of 2022, item 184)

To start the specialisation training a pharmacist must meet all of the following conditions:

  • must submit an application to start the specialisation training,

  • must have the right to perform the profession of a pharmacist,

  • has been qualified for the specialisation training under the qualification procedure.

A pharmacist applying for specialisation training may be admitted to the qualification procedure only in one field of pharmacy and only in one voivodeship at a given time.

SUBMISSION OF DOCUMENTS
A pharmacist applying to start the specialisation training must submit an application to start the specialisation training via the SMK system (Education Monitoring System) to the voivodeship governor competent for the area in which the applicant intends to undergo the specialisation training.

To perform the activity in the SMK system, a pharmacist must set up an account there - https://smk.ezdrowie.gov.pl, helpline: 19 239, opening hours: 9:00-15:00, e-mail: smk-serwis@ezdrowie.gov.pl.

The application should contain:

  • first name(s) and last name;

  • date and place of birth;

  • PESEL or, if not available, an ID document details: title and number of the document and the country of issuance;

  • pharmacist licence number;

  • citizenship(s);

  • correspondence address and, if available, telephone number and e-mail address;

  • details of the document based on which the third-country national is staying in the territory of the Republic of Poland;

  • information on the academic degree or title of professor held, if applicable;

  • period of professional activity;

  • number of publications and list of the publications;

  • mode of the specialisation training.

The following documents must be submitted with the application:

  • electronic copy of the graduation diploma;

  • electronic copy of the diploma confirming the academic degree held;

  • electronic copy of the document confirming the period of practicing the profession;

  • statement on the type of publications.

The application to start the specialisation training must be submitted:

  • from 15 November to 15 December, for the qualification procedure conducted from 16 December to 15 January,

  • from 30 April to 31 May, for the qualification procedure conducted from 1 June to 30 June.

QUALIFICATION PROCEDURE
The qualification procedure includes:

  • formal assessment of the application for admission to the specialised training;

  • competition procedure - in the event that the number of applicants exceeds the number of available places.

Continuing education for pharmacists

A pharmacist is obliged to develop professionally through self-education and participation in courses conducted:
1) in the form of lectures, seminars, workshops and classes;
2) via the Internet, with limited access, ending with a test.
