Research filed:

Currently, cancer is one of the main causes of death. To meet the problems of today's world, we are engaged in research in the field of new therapies (e.g. chemotherapy (CT), electrochemotherapy (ECT), photodynamic therapy (PDT)) that can be used in oncology in the future. Through specialised molecular research, we are deepening and developing our interests in the field of cancer cell biology. The subject of our activity is the preparation, conduct and promotion of research projects on topics related to cancer cells.

Research projects underway:

  1. The influence of cyanine dyes in photodynamic therapy on the autophagy process and the influence of chloroquine on the effectiveness of therapy on the melanoma cell line (C32) in an in vitro study - Natalia Lange

  2. The effect of an alternating magnetic field and dexamethasone on telomerase in leukemia cells - Ela Bartoszewska, Klaudia Molik, Magda Kloc, Monika Kisielewska

  3. Discovery of anti-cancer compounds from Wrocław's nature: endophytes from the Mokrzanski Forest - Magda Kloc

Achievements:

1. 1st place in the national competition for scientific associations "3Mind" organised by 3M

2. Winners of the "Best of the best! 3.0" competition organised by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education for the project: "Research on the preservation of biological material for space missions"

3. Research at the European Space Agency (ESA) info

4. Winners of the "STRUNA" competition in the StRuNa-Med 2019 category and in the main category Project of the Year 2019
