                                         CONFERENCE

            “University Internationalization Debate 2024”

Dear All,

on behalf of the Vice Rector for University Development Strategies and the Committee for Implementation of the UMW Intensive Internationalization Plan, we cordially invite you to participate in the Debate on Internationalization and Humanization in Medicine.

During the conference, knowledge and experience will be shared by experts involved in the internationalization process at the Medical University of Wroclaw, and it will also be an opportunity to hear speeches by our foreign guests.

Internationalization concerns many aspects of Our University and can be understood in different ways, but what is very important is that it promotes the quality of education, for the benefit of the general public. Internationalization is a tool, not an end in itself- smart goals, concrete measures. Internationalization is a measure of success, but it should be smart internationalization aimed at the development of education, training, research, or innovation. Internationalization is academic mobility, cooperation, short-term stays, internationalization at home- here the emphasis should be on increasing accessibility for the excluded (we understand this by developing programs for teaching in English, etc.). Internationalization is a catalyst for positive change to improve the quality of education.

In addition, the debate will include topics that will show the importance of internationalization for our university.

UMW as a University based on knowledge, not emotions. The task of the debate is a University-wide discussion that will outline a strategy for internationalization, thus:

- the fact that building this strategy is a complex and evolving process in which a multitude of stakeholders must have a voice - the process must focus on people,

- the strategy cannot operate in a vacuum: the internationalization strategy connects and complements broader national and international policies.

Implementation of internationalization - dialogue, cooperation, we are looking for what unites us and not divides us.
